World War I
We are the 5th of September 1914, early afternoon. The first cannon shot blows up above the small town of Monthyon. It marks the start of the battle of the Marne, a decisive assault that will eventually stop the progression of German troops and save Paris during World War I. During 10 days, more than 5000 men are killed. It is this page of history that you will relive through the following visits.
