European Night of Museums
During the European Night of Museums, the Meaux Region proposes each year in May a program of nocturnal visits and discoveries.
The occasion is thus given to everyone to discover the patrimonial riches of the Meaux region under a new perspective, original and totally free. Exhibitions, guided tours, animations, concerts, this program can only appeal you.
Rendez-vous at the Great War Museum! The largest European collection about the First World War will be open for a night visit. For the experience to be shared in family, each year, the teams of this exceptional museum propose an activity or a game as a mean for the museum to be discovered in another way.
The episcopal city of Meaux and the Saint-Etienne cathedral can also be visited differently during the European Night of Museums. Sculptures, gargoyles, stones, bricks, gaps… the whole architectural ensemble shines a thousand lights. An illumination dispositive for the episcopal city is put in place each year. Continue your night stroll to the Bossuet garden, a soft a poetic moment awaits you there. A thousand of small flames will surrounds the flowerbed and a romantic ambient sound will accompany your stroll. Thematic visits and animations are also generally proposed on this occasion. The Brie de Meaux House, the Bossuet museum, the city’s remparts… many unmissable sites of Meaux open their doors freely on this night and offer animations and visits that allow you spend a moment out of time in our beautiful city of Meaux.
