Circuit "Bataille de la Marne 1914"

Go where it happened.

In the plains of Brie took place the first battles of the Battle of the Marne, which lasted from 5 to 12 September 1914.

Since the outbreak of the war in August, the German army has crossed Belgium and is pursuing the French armies and the retreating British expeditionary force.

Paris is only 40 kilometers away! But history will decide otherwise ... This is the "miracle of the Marne".

From the Museum of the Great War, in Meaux, continue your journey in the footsteps of the soldiers of the Battle of the Marne, to discover the places and men who made history.

A 40-kilometer tourist loop through the countryside and 10 sites to travel to evoke a decisive battle of the First World War, in a landscape almost unchanged.
