In remembrance

Located less than an hour east of Paris, the Pays de Meaux constituted, a hundred years ago, the theater of one of the most important battles of the First World War: the battle of the Marl.

It was here that the German advance was stopped in extremis, at the gates of the capital. It is because of this major event of the Great War that the agglomeration community of the Pays de Meaux inaugurated in 2011 the Museum of the Great War. Discover the places of memory of the Pays de Meaux as well as the events proposed in Meaux on the occasion of the Centenary of the First World War.
